Month: September 2021

Trip home via AZ, NM, TX, OK

The journey home were a few long days, but we enjoyed some great sights and some brief visits to landmarks and some parks. (Winslow, Petrified Forest NP, Oklahoma City Memorial)

Grand Canyon 2021

While the trip was intended to visit Yosemite, one couldn’t miss the opportunity to take in the Grand Canyon. The size of the place is just amazing.

Calavaras State Park, CA 2021

With Sequoia NP on fire and camping cancelled there, we diverted to this wonderful little state park just a little to the north. There was a very accessible trail with a nice grove of giant sequoia trees.

Yosemite 2021

Yosemite National Park was the highlight of this year's trip west.

Eastern California 2021

The trip across Nevada was long and not that interesting. A few photos here of the journey. Landscapes changed almost immediately upon entering California. Mammoth Lakes was a great little town to explore.

Great Basin National Park 2021

Great Basin National Park is in Nevada, just over the Utah line. It is a Dark Sky park and we happened to be there during the Astronomy Festival.

Palisades State Park, UT

The trip from Colorado to California included several stops along I-70 and then US 50 across Nevada. After leaving Denver our next night was at Palisades State Park in Utah. The water level of the lake was low, but a nice trail around the lake was a good chance to stretch our legs after long

Traveling West 2021

Just a few stops between PA and CO. Spent a night at Indiana Dunes National Seashore and then a Harvest Host Sheep/goat farm.
